About this event

As a precursor to the following ‘Engage Enterprise’ event, this engaging and inspiring series of short talks will concentrate on current advances in creative thinking within education and industry in the NW.

The aim of such an event is to stimulate discussion and debate around the possibilities of creative enterprise in Ballyshannon and the northwest. We live in a hub of diverse creativity in this part of Ireland. There are many small businesses and individual creatives generating high quality creative output in this area. However, unemployment in the area remains much greater than the national average, and in order to assist growth in the creative sector, events offering relevant knowledge content and appropriate networking opportunities are important. The Allingham Festival is ideally positioned to encourage innovation, networking and development of creative industries locally. Perhaps this is the beginning of something much bigger.

The festival has grown steadily in the past three years and the collaboration with #designatmagee has played a key role in the development of the festival as a creative digital showcase and workshop platform. This set of talks and the following ‘Engaging Enterprise’ event will further enhance this developing relationship with the Allingham Festival, the creative industry and the education sector. "Open discussion leads to opportunity" ... lets put that to the test!
