A couple of young local creatives showing us 'what they do' in the creative industry at #allingham 2014. Well done lads and we hope to see you both back at #allingham 2015 with more projects?

Under Open Skies - Jason Kane (Writer)

Produced by local man Jason Kane, the film features Ballyshannon handball players in the local Handball Alley. This was a local premiere of the film. 'Under Open Skies' is an affectionate look back on the recent history of the GAA sport of Handball, amidst the backdrop of the creation and subsequent dereliction of the countless outdoor alleys that scatter the landscape of both urban and rural Ireland.

A Quick Fortune - James Gavigan (Writer/Actor)

Web-series producer, writer and actor James Gavigan explores stories we create and share in a modern digital age. Also included was a screening of the first four episodes of his recently released 'A Quick Fortune' web series. The Allingham Festival is an ideal opportunity to showcase local talent, if you are working in the creative industry and have a story to tell or a project you would like to share in 2015, give us a shout as we will be taking proposals in early 2015. Two Primary School Art Entries Spark Digital Painting Category for 2015

Robyn & PJ Lynch didn't receive an award for their digital painting entries for The Allingham Festival 2014 as it was well outside the brief, but they got a great mention at the ceremony and their digital illustrations framed plus the promise of a digital painting section in next years art competitions.

Conor Carney the awards spokesman was impressed and said that; "receiving these entries was like getting a slap in the face with a mackerel, we need to allow for entries like this'.

It was all their own work, with a little over the shoulder coaching to get them going on the tool palette. They took the photos, created the illustrations then coloured in photoshop. Robyn went on to win 1st prize in the under 8 art comp for a traditional painting of a Robyn Redbreast. Well done to all the competition winners and everyone that took part. Photos will be on the website soon.

Poetry In Motion Allingham 2014

On Thursday 6th Nov 2014 in the Abbey Centre, Ballyshannon, Co. Donegal, visitors to The Allingham Festival had an opportunity to experience a unique cinematic screening of a moving image/animation response to the poems of William Allingham, created by the final year ‪#‎designatmagee‬ students from the School of Creative Arts & Technologies, Magee, University Of Ulster and students from LYIT.

Neishaw Ali of SpinVFX and Kevin & Danny from Uproar Comics form the judging panel this year and the results will be announced in late November 2014. The selected students will be part of a creative project/workshop/film/animation taking place in 2015 to be screened at Allingham 2015. The subject of this film is untitled at present and two projects are currently being considered.

This project will be sponsored by 'The Allingham Project'.
We are seeking further funding for this workshop. To donate to the project, please email allinghamfest@gmail.com.

This video showcases all entries submitted on time, the results reel will be shared in late Nov. Please feel free to voice opinion here on your favourites!

Now that was quicker than expected!
(Although we know she had this one cooking for a while)

You may have spotted some of 'arty bird's' work on the Art Trail in Slevins coffeeshop. She will be selling online in early Dec.
