The Allingham Arts Festival is once again running the annual Poetry, Short Story and Art Competitions for primary schools, sponsored by Donegal ETB.

Information on all of the categories is available below. Entries can be sent in via schools, post or using our online entry forms. If you have any further queries, email allinghamfest@gmail.com.

Please make sure all entries include at least one way of getting in touch, by phone or email, so we can notify winners. All shortlists and winners will be announced on our website and social media shortly before the festival begins.

PRIMARY SCHOOL SHORT STORY & POETRY COMPETITIONS

deadline: Friday Oct 10th 2025

·       Entries must not have been published previously

·       Title/Theme is open

·       Each entry must be typed

·       Maximum Number of words for short story 2000 words

·       Maximum Number of words for Poem 100 words

·       Entries will not be returned

·       Indication of name or identity must not appear on the script

PRIMARY SCHOOL ART COMPETITION

• To enter, you must fill in the entry form below and send along with your painting  by October 13th 2024.

• Two pieces of artwork may be entered. Only individual entries will be accepted.

• Your entry should be submitted in a flat format and should be on A4 size COPY PAPER                    

• The closing date for entries to the Allingham Art Competition is Friday Oct 10th, 2025. This date is final. Entries received after this date will not be submitted for adjudication.

• The decision of the Adjudicator of the Judging Panel is final

• All entries shall be the property of Allingham Arts Association , Allingham Arts Association will not accept liability for loss or damage to any work submitted.

• Entries can be posted in an A 4 size envelope to Allingham Art Competition, C/O Conor Carney, West Rock., Ballyshannon

• The rules of the Competition may not be changed or modified and will be strictly applied.
