Calling all budding Cartoonists, Writers, Film-makers, Photographers, Artists, Digital Designers, the Allingham Festival 2014 has a programme of exhibitions, talks and workshops to help you unlock your creative potential and bring your hidden talents out into the world. The Design Workshops are ideal for secondary school students who are considering progressing on a creative career, but you don't need to have any experience to join in these workshops. The workshops will be facilitated by design lecturer’s Mark CullenPadraic LynchAntony Hutton and Justin Magee, and delivered by Masters & Final Year students from #designatmagee, School Of Creative Arts & Technologies, University of Ulster, Magee.

CARTOON SALOON WORKSHOP


VENUE: The Abbey Centre, Ballyshannon
TIME: 2pm, FRIDAY NOVEMBER 7TH

This workshop is not to be missed by any budding cartoonists! Cartoon Saloon is an Irish Animation Studio based in Kilkenny, and they are coming to Ballyshannon to share their animation skills in a workshop for young cartoonists on Friday afternoon in the Abbey Centre. The Cartoon Saloon was recently nominated for an Academy Award (R) for Best Animated Feature film. The studio works with many diverse, international clients such as Disney, BBC and Cartoon Network.In addition to developing and producing Tomm Moore’s Oscar (R) nominated 'The Secret of Kells', The Saloon also successfully developed and produced its first TV series, the IFTA award winning Skunk Fu! Which has been sold to broadcasters in over 120 countries worldwide, including the BBC, Cartoon Network, Canal J, France 5 and Super RTL.

Cartoon Saloon will deliver a workshop and a speaker event on Friday 7th November. Pop this in your diary. Some of Ireland's finest will be there.

SPINVFX - WORKSHOP

You may not be familiar with SPINVFX, but have you heard of these movies and shows they have worked with...'Game of Thrones', 'Twilight', '22 Jump Street', 'The Borgias'..?

Neishaw Ali is a founding member and president of internationally renowned visual effects company SPINVFX. Her creativity, and leadership has produced an impressive body of work including over 70 feature film and 13 television series, notably the VFX Emmy award-winning third season of Game of Thrones (HBO), Dolphin Tale 2 (Alcon Entertainment), 22 Jump Street (Columbia Pictures) The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part One and Two (Summit Entertainment), Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter (20th Century Fox) and three seasons of the Emmy nominated TV series The Borgias (Showtime).

Neishaw is the past President for the Computer Animation Studios of Ontario Association (CASO) and continues to serve the local community on the Board of Directors. An invaluable knowledge base for workshop attendees, not to be missed.
